Precision Dual Edge Woodturning Jigs - Fits Sorby ProEdge Grinding Machine
Refine the precision of your woodturning with our new custom 3D printed jigs, perfect for the Sorby ProEdge bench grinder. Unlike the two standard attachments (20° or right angle), these jigs offer not just one, but two different angles per jig.
With choices ranging from right angle to 30, 20, 15 and 10.5 degrees, you have the freedom to choose your desired sharpening angle.
The material used, ABS, offers durability and precision. Thanks to the wear resistance and strength of ABS, these jigs are designed to last and perform consistently. The unique design also makes it easy to switch between sharpening angles and rotate the jig on the backing plate, allowing you to sharpen both sides of your chisel without hassle.
Experiences with the previous version of my Pro Edge Grinding Jigs:
Peter Peer ; Woodturner, gives online and physical woodturning lessons and is active on Youtube :
"This is a super handy sharpening jig! Specially made to sharpen scrapers or skew chisels to the right angle for dovetails. I use the small skew chisel from Sorby for this (number 864H, 6 mm). Bas made this jig with an excellent fit for the ProEdge."
French; a satisfied user:
"Great little tool that allowed me to sharpen an old flat chisel into a handy scraper, and keep the scraper sharp to size. The ABS material slides smoothly through the slot in the table."
But also for your project!:
For example, do you want to turn perfect dovetails to securely hold your woodwork in the chucks of Record Power or Nova? The 10.5 degree jig is ideal for this. Do you need a specific angle for your projects? I am ready to help you! Contact me for a jig that perfectly suits your needs and turning work.

Notice 3D Printed Accessories and Attachments
- The use of any accessory or attachment other than that recommended in the operating instructions of the original product for which such accessory or attachment was manufactured may result in risk of personal injury or damage to the machine and will void the warranty.
- This accessory should only be used by persons who have experience with the original product and are familiar with the risks of using it.
- BASt is not responsible for damage caused by any use of the original product for which this accessory or attachment was made other than as described in the original user manuals, technical specifications and other published guidelines for its use.
- BASt is not affiliated with and has no relationship with companies for which accessories are designed. BASt therefore has no influence on adjustments, product versions or other changes in the products for which the accessories are intended. Therefore, no rights can be derived from this.
- 3D printing uses so-called Fused Deposition Modeling, which means that the print is built up from thin layers that are melted together and thus form a whole. It is therefore normal that you still see some lines. It is also possible that a small thread is hanging somewhere or that you see a bump; this does not affect the quality of the product.
- Because the tolerances for sizes are small, it can happen that your accessory fits tightly or does not fit. In almost all cases, this can be trimmed with sandpaper or a knife. In some cases, I have already done this myself, which is why you see a slightly different color there. In that case, there is no wear, manufacturing defect or second-choice product.
- If you have any doubts, please contact me and I will be happy to help you.
Materials
A 3D print can be done with different materials. The most used materials are:
- PLA-ST, a high strength and toughness plastic made with starch raw materials derived from renewable plant resources. This material has a very high impact resistance, but does not withstand temperatures above 50°.
- ABS+, Suitable for temperatures up to 100° and impact resistant.
- PETG, A material similar to the material PET bottles are made of, suitable for temperatures up to 85°.
Each material has its own specific properties, which can be advantageous or disadvantageous for a particular application.
3D printed items are printed in the material best suited for the intended application.
For example, ABS+ is chosen for grinding jigs. This has a high temperature resistance, but keep an eye on it (also for your gouge itself) that you do not let the metal you are grinding get too hot.
If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact us.
To colour
For my prints I try to keep a consistent color choice at all times. Unfortunately spools are not always in stock and I will have to choose from the available options.
The preferred color is always indicated in one of the product photos.
If you have a specific color preference, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Note: Colors are always approximate; screens and product lighting may produce different shades.
